A Naturalizer Life

Last Saturday was absolutely beautiful out and I had the pleasure of joining some fellow bloggers for a brunch at the Naturalizer store in downtown Chicago! Their lead designer, Angelique Joseph (who is absolutely adorable), gave us the run down on their new spring collection.

To be totally honest I wasn’t too sure what to expect before walking into this brunch as Naturalizer, in the past, has been known as having the “mom” shoes. I was pleasantly surprised that I loved almost every single pair in their store, I actually was debating on buying quite a few pairs of shoes (ask any blogger there).

Naturalizer is known as “the shoe with the beautiful fit” and I’ll tell ya, every pair I tried on were incredibly comfortable! Angelique was talking about their N5 comfort system; I won’t get technical but it’s a system they created that is proven to have the highest quality of comfort shoes can have all day. It basically allows the sole of shoe to form to your own foot while be lightweight, flexible and balanced and not to mention easy to throw on. I ended up getting these Henrik White Moccasins with perforated edges because I needed a good white pair of flat shoes in my summer closet and they were the most comfortable mocs I’ve worn in a long time!7

This Santa Cruz mood board Angelique put together specifically to add more color into their brand, and I think it’s pretty spot on. You should checkout these color blocked moccasins6 5 4 3 2

Nobody can resist taking a “shoefie” with their new shoes!

Put a little Flare in your Step

I’m actually pretty pumped about flare jeans coming back.

I vividly remember in middle school begging our Mom to buy me a new pair of jeans with huge flares. She refused, due to the fact I was growing like a weed and would have grown out of my new pants in a month. Luckily she is super-Mom and had a solution that would appease both of us (and her wallet) so off to Jo-Ann Fabrics we went. I picked out this obnoxiously bright fabric with every color of the rainbow and flowers with happy faces on it (obviously). When we got home Mom ripped the seams of a pair of my jeans , inserted a triangle piece of fabric and voila Toni has her new flares! I never took those bad boys off. Until a month later when I grew out of them.
Now they’re back in style and we can’t get enough of them, here are some of our faves we are crushing on:

A Green Skater Skirt

Skater skirts are definitely a go-to style for me, if you can avoid the wind (which is pretty hard here in the windy city), they’re perfect! They work for every body type out there because they sinch at the waist and flare out to help cover any ‘problem areas’. They’re also just fun to wear!
With all of this “warm weather” we are enjoying here in Chicago I figured it was time to pull this green skirt out of the back of my closet. You may see me wearing this to celebrate one of my favorite holidays, St. Patricks Day!www.sunflowersandlace.com www.sunflowersandlace.com Tying a chambray or button down shirt up like this with a high waisted skirt helps avoid the bulk of tucking it and accentuates your waist line.  www.sunflowersandlace.com www.sunflowersandlace.comCheck us out on Instagram @SunflowersLace, Twitter @SunflowersLace and Facebook for more of our style!www.sunflowersandlace.com www.sunflowersandlace.comGreen Skater Skirt :: Similar
